DILS-PG Certificate to teach Italian
DILS-PG Exams
Solemar Academy is an examination center for the Certification of Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language (DILS-PG).
The DILS-PG certification is a very useful tool for those who want to enter the world of teaching Italian to foreigners and for those who already have this work but lack an official certification.
The examination certifies the theoretical, methodological, didactic and functional. The approach of the exam is oriented toward the experiential. So the three parts that make up the DILS-PG genuine reflect and verify the functional capacity of the teacher.
DILS-PG first and second level
One can choose between two levels of certification. The DILS-PG (first level) is intended for those who have not yet gained extensive teaching experience. The DILS-PG (second level) is suitable for those who already have many hours of teaching under their belts or those who have completed formal study in the teaching of the Italian language.
Why choose DILS-PG?
In Italy there is an official certification for the Italian language. This is partly because public institutions are increasingly active in the field of teaching and in a variety of areas of the Italian language. The University for Foreigners of Perugia with its Center for the Evaluation of Language Skills (CVCL), is undoubtedly the most prestigious institution in this area, and is based in the ALTE European model. In addition to issuing certificates in Italian (CELI), a lot of energy is being devoted to training Italian-language teachers. The DILS-PG, compared to other certifications such as DITALS or CEDILS, has as its most important elements:
- The backing of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, the main institution in Italy with regard to studying and teaching Italian
- An examination program strongly oriented toward experiential skills
- The ability to take the exam without having to attend a mandatory preparatory course
- The cost of the exam in relation to DITALS or CEDILS
