60+ Italian Language Programs

 

Solemar Academy is specialised in organising Italian language programs designed specifically for students aged 60 and over, offering unique study experiences in Sicily. Each year more and more students from all over the world choose to spend weeks learning Italian and discovering the local culture, driven by a passion for the language and for the traditions of our land.

Our 60+ programs usually take place in spring and autumn, when the Sicilian climate is mild and towns are still calm, far from the summer crowds. This makes it possible to enjoy Sicily in a relaxed and authentic way, with full days of study and pleasant activities without stress and confusion.

The 60+ programs at Solemar Academy combine Italian lessons with cultural and leisure activities designed especially for mature learners. From guided visits to historic sites and nature excursions, to food and wine tastings and cooking classes, learning the language becomes a stimulating and fun experience. Each program is designed to encourage interaction, socialisation and active learning, ensuring unforgettable weeks in a welcoming and safe setting.

CLUB 60+

.

The Club 60+ program includes a two-week Italian Standard course plus leisure activities. It’s a complete package that combines classroom lessons with activities that help you socialise, explore and get to know the island’s places, stories and flavours up close.

Program dates for 2026:
• 23 March – 03 April
• 19 October – 30 October

Saturday and Sunday are reserved for arrivals. Italian lessons take place in the mornings from Monday to Friday. Afternoon leisure activities happen after lunch (except for the day trip, which takes place at the weekend). Schedules and activity days will be communicated upon arrival at the school.

• Guided walk in the historic centre of Cefalù
• Visit to a farm in the Madonie area
• Sicilian cooking class with lunch
• Screening of a film in Italian
• Walk in the historic centre of Palermo
• Weekend day trip
• Italian culture seminar

Terms and Conditions

  1. If at least 6 participants are not registered one month before the program starts, the school will inform enrolled students and communicate any changes to the program.

  2. Students of all language levels can participate. The school will endeavour, as far as possible, to create classes made up solely of Club 60+ participants.

  3. The activity calendar may change depending on weather conditions, and students will be notified in good time.

  4. The program price is a single package. Reductions are not available for not participating in individual activities. These Terms are integrated with the School’s General Conditions.

Program Fees and Booking

The program costs €800 plus a €50 annual registration fee. Accommodation is not included. To see available housing options, visit the accommodation page on the site. To book, simply fill out the online form and submit your request.

Group Study Tours for 60+ Students

For many years, Solemar Academy has also organised tailored study tours for Italian schools and agencies from around the world. In recent years, we have had the pleasure of hosting, among others, study groups from Viaggio Studio of Florianópolis, Brazil and La Dolce Lingua from Castricum, the Netherlands.

Our programs are designed together with group leaders and personalised based on age, interests and participant needs to ensure a complete and engaging learning experience. Every day, mornings are dedicated to dynamic and interactive Italian courses, while afternoons offer unforgettable excursions: walks through the picturesque villages of the Madonie, visits to Palermo’s monuments and museums, local food tastings and even trips to other parts of Sicily to discover archaeological sites and hidden island treasures. Our programs combine language study, culture and fun, allowing students to fully immerse themselves in Sicilian life and create lasting memories. The variety of activities and flexible programs make every stay unique, stimulating and suitable for all ages.
